Where do you currently live?
I currently live in San Francisco, CA in a 4bd flat with a couple other roommates. I was originally born and raised in St. Louis, MO with a brief s tint in Dallas.

What is your family's origin?
Being born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, we are German to the bone. My grandma tells me we are related to Daniel Boone through his wife Mary, suweet! My father, grandfather, and great grandfather all worked for Anheuser-Busch and my dad used to own a bakery in Dallas.

What is your current occupation?
As of last summer, I have been working for Anheuser-Busch traveling around Northern CA or Nevada. I'm living up to the family legacy now as a 4th generation BUD Man!!!

Where do you get your culinary inspiration from?
People always say their inspiration comes from food blogs, recipe books, etc. For me, my culinary inspiration comes from everything around me, starting with my dad. When I was younger, he would open up the pantry, see what protein and veggies we have, and literally an hour later we've got something random whipped up and sitting on the table! I don't know how or why, but this habit has stayed with me my entire life. It's all about seeing what you have to work with in your kitchen and going from there... Trying things out and if they work, GREAT, if not, it's a learning experience.

In one sentence, I'd say inspiration is the product of trial and error mixed with creativity and a sale on beef, poultry or seafood at the grocery store!.

Why did you start blogging?
I always serve as defacto chef for any get together our friends have. Ever since college when I officially moved out on my own and had my own kitchen to destroy without my parents yell ing at me, I have been cooking up a storm. Many of my friends always tell me I should open a restaurant, but being low on funds, I figured this would be the next best way to share my creativity in the kitchen with people. I started taking pictures of my many random diners and posting them to Facebook, and I figured why not just do it right and start a proper blog. I have so many recipes from the past couple years of things I've just "whipped up" so I'll be posting the to UrbanHomeChef as they get recreated in my kitchen.

Whats your favorite thing about cooking?
I honestly think it' s one of the best cures for my ADHD. There's something about cooking that calms me down but still allows me to be creative and expressionistic. When getting home from being on the road 1000 miles in the last week, t here's something about pulling out a chicken breast, stuffing it with spinach, shallots, pancetta, and mozzarella, baking it drizzled with Olive Oil, dusted with flour, rosemary and a bit of cayenne, S&P, and enjoying a good meal, that just chills me out.

Besides cooking what is something you like do on your spare time?
I enjoy water and snow skiing, basketball and brunch with the guys on Satur day mornings, and vegging out in front of the tv for some House, Office, Community, etc...
