Where do you live and what is your family's origin?
I currently live in Ft Lauderdale, Florida, but am from North Florida, Tallahassee.
I'm half Japanese and half English.

What do you do for a living?
I currently sell commercial insurance. Its not the most exciting job, but it leaves me with nights and weekends free. I worked as a pastry chef in fine dining for a few years after I graduated from culinary school, but it just wasn't for me. I much prefer cooking on my own time.

Where do you get your culinary inspiration from?
Mainly from books, other blogs, food tv. When I do go out to eat, I also like to come home and attempt to recreate the dish. I don't have anyone in my family that really cooks, so I honsestly have no idea where I got my love of cooking.

where did your blog name come from and why did you start blogging?
My husband has been suggesting I starting blogging for the longest time. I cook every night, and always try to make my food look good. I love it so much, I even cook for my dogs. I figured I would just try it out for a little while. Now that I am blogging, I love it! Its a fabulous creative outlet. My husband came up with the name... He's a professional photographer and I'm a chef. Its the perfect name for our combination of skills!

Whats your favorite thing about cooking?
Cooking is a sensory experience. The smell of something cooking when you walk into a home, sipping on a glass of wine while listening to something simmer, the anticipation of a long awaited meal. But in the end, cooking is all about bringing people together and that’s why I love it. No matter your race, religion, gender or politics everyone loves food. Moments with family and friends at the dining table are some that I will cherish forever.

Besides cooking what is something you like do on your spare time?
I am an avid reader and love mystery novels. I also love to travel and try new restaurants while travelling. I enjoy writing reviews about the food at the restaurans I go to, and can be brutally honest.
I think I'd be a fabulous food critic! lol!
