  •   1/4 cup milk
  •   1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  •   1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  •   1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  •   2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  •   2 eggs
  •   1/2 cup white sugar
  •   2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  •   2 quarts oil for frying
  •   1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

    1. Heat oil in deep-fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
    2. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and salt onto piece of waxed paper.
    3. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer at medium speed to beat together sugar, brown sugar and eggs until fluffy. Beat in 2 tablespoon oil.
