Cabbage & Potatoes - What to Do with them?

Got home one day from work and looked at the cabbage & potatoes not knowing what to do, so why not combine them and come up with something and I did!!!

1 medium size cabbage, sliced

8 Yukon Gold potatoes, sliced but not too thick

1 large onion sliced
-
2 cans drained mushrooms
-
1/2 cup butter
-
1 cup chicken broth
-
1/4 cup bacon grease
-
Seasonings:
-
1-2 tbsp smoked paprika
-
1 tbsp garlic powder
-
salt & pepper to taste
-
1 cup Parmasean Cheese
-
Optional:
-
Add 1-1/2 lbs. chopped beef
-
Add crumbled bacon
Instructions
- In a 9 x 13 baking pan, add sliced cabbage, potatoes, onions and mushrooms
- Melt butter
- Then in small bowl; add chicken broth, bacon grease (melted) and seasonings
- Pour over cabbage/potatoe mixture in pan
- With spoon, mix all up to coat
- Bake at 375 covered for about 45 minutes or until potatoes and cabbage are tender
- Uncover and sprinkle Parmesean cheese over top
- Bake at 350 for additional 15 minutes
- If addding beef, add with cabbage & potatoes
