Chicken Mushroom Steam Rice

During Chinese New Year, my mom cooked salted pork rice with ginger, I found that it is simple and fast to prepare. From there, I created Sweet Potatoes Steam Rice and Mushroom Chicken Steam Rice.

  •   2 chicken fillet cut into slices
  •   3 - 5 mushrooms cut into slices
  •   1/2 Carrot cut into slices (if you liked carrots)
  •   3 - 5 pieces 'Auricularia auricula' cut into pieces (木耳,if you liked)
  •   a little bit ginger cut into slices
  •   3 - 5 garlics slices
  •   1/2 tea spoon salt
  •   1 1/2 spoon oyster sauce
  •   1 ounce olive oil or cooking oil
  •   1 1/2 tea cup rice

Instructions

  1. Put olive oil into the wok, wait till it heat up.
  2. Reduce the heat.
  3. Put in the garlics, then mushrooms, carrots, or Auricularia auricula, and ginger.
  4. Increase to medium heat.
  5. After 30 seconds, put in chicken fillet slices.
  6. Followed by salt and oyster sauce, until the chicken are 30% cooked.
  7. Put all cooked ingredients on a plate.
  8. Cook the rice with rice cooker.
  9. Mix all prepared ingredients into the rice cooker and close the cooker after 10 minutes the rice boiled, then wait for it to be ready.

In Indonesia, we call with "Nasi Goreng". IT mean fried rice, but this have different taste with Fried Rice from Chinesse Food. You can substitute ground meat with chicken or nothing. and you can skip rice noodle too. This is one of our favorite brunch on the week end *_~
