Ingredients [?] Add all ingredients to Shopping List

  •   1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  •   1 cup long grain rice
  •   2 1/2 cups cold water
  •   2 teaspoons salt
  •   2 teaspoons garlic salt or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  •   3/4 cup tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. In a skillet heat oil over medium heat. Add rice and cook until lightly browned. Add water and remainting ingredients, bring to a boil.
  2. Cover and simmer until rice is tender.

This is a very good, easy, everyday recipe. On a busy day, I usually dump the ingredients (except the cheese, cilantro and sour cream--save those for serving) into the crockpot and serve it wrapped in tortillas when ready (add the cheese, cilantro and sour cream before wrapping the tortilla.) Ole!!
