  • add   2 teaspoons chili powder
  • add   2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • add   1/2 cup water
  • add   sour cream, to taste (optional)
  • add   1 tablespoon flour or masa harina (optional)
  • add   shredded cheddar cheese or colby-monterey jack cheese, to taste (optional)
  • add   chopped tomatoes, to taste (optional)
  • add   shredded iceberg lettuce, to taste (optional)
  • add   4-5 cloves garlic
  • add   2 teaspoons ground allspice
  • add   6-8 crispy taco shells or flour tortillas
  • add   taco sauce or salsa, to taste (optional)
  • add   1 lb lean ground beef
  • add   1 yellow onion
  • add   1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Brown beef with onion and garlic, and drain any accumulated fat.
  2. Add spices and water, and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until mixture thickens (or warms through if not using flour/masa).
  3. Serve meat in tacos (warm taco shells in over for 5-7 minutes until they crisp, or warm tortillas briefly in microwave) with toppings of choice.
