Egg and Sausage Strata

I make this when we tailgate and it is cold outside. I bake it just before we leave for the game, then I wrap it in bath towels and it keeps it nice and hot until you are ready to eat!!

  •   12 slices white bread, crusts removed and cubed
  •   1 1/2 lbs bulk pork sausage
  •   1/3 cup chopped onion
  •   1/4 dup chopped green pepper
  •   1 jar (2 oz.) chopped pimentos drained
  •   6 eggs
  •   3 cups milk
  •   2 tsp. worcestershire sauce
  •   1 tsp. dry mustard
  •   1/2 tsp. salt
  •   1/2 tsp. pepper
  •   1/4 tsp. dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Line a greased 13x9 inch pan with bread cubes; set aside. In a skillet, brown sausage with the onion and green pepper; drain. Stir in pimentos; sprinkle over bread. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk, worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, pepper and oregano. Pour over sausage mixture, cover and refigerate overnight. Bake covered, at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Uncover and bake 10 minutes longer or until a knofe inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

This is one of my family favorite food. and now, i cooked for my husband :-) If you don't find sweet soy sauce, you can substitute with soy sauce and sugar.
