I first tasted these in San Diego, but since I can't go very often, I created my own.

Change Serving Size
  • add   4 Basa fillets
  • add   1/2 cup dixie fry, or your brand of choice
  • add   8-10 corn tortillas
  • add   2 cups cabbage, red or green, thinly sliced
  • add   Oil for frying
  • add   Sauce:
  • add   3/4 cup sour cream
  • add   3/4 cup mayo
  • add   2 tablespoons chipotle chilis in adobo sauce, chopped, or more to desired heat
  • add   1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
  • add   1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • add   sqeeze of lime

Instructions

  1. 1.Mix sauce ingredients together, mix well. Keep in fridge until ready to use
  2. 2.Bread fillets in dixie fry and fry in oil 3-4 minutes per side, or until done. Drain on paper towel
  3. 3.While fish is cooking, fry tortillas in separate pan until browned, but not crispy. Drain on paper towel and keep warm in oven or tortilla keeper
  4. 4. Fill taco with pieces of fish, then sauce, then top with cabbage.
