this is a southern Persian dish.. it is healthy & delicious. it is slow cooking that makes it fantastic.. ofcourse this recipe is my version of Ghaleiyh Mahi..

Ingredients [?] Change Serving Size Add all ingredients to Shopping List

  •   2 lb of monk fish cut in 3 by 3 inch( no skin & no bone)
  •   1 cup diced Cellery
  •   1 cup chopped cilantro
  •   1 cup chopped green onion
  •   1 cup chopped leek
  •   1 cup chopped Parsley
  •   1 cup Sedaf dry sabzi Mahi( soak before)
  •   Extra virgin oilve oil as much needed
  •   1 cup Tamariand syrup
  •   1can 16 oz diced tomato
  •   16 clove diced garlic
  •   lemon peper to taste
  •   red crushed pepper to taste
  •   1 tb spoon turmeric & paprika
  •   1 cup orange juice

Instructions

  1. in a large pot salute & lightly brown Cellery, ,cilantro,parsley,leek,garlic, green onion.& soaked drained Sedaf sabzi Mhai..then add turmeric, paprika & lemon pepper & dry red pepper totaste..then add the diced tomato slow cook the ingredient for 30 min...add the orange juice.
  2. at all time ck for the mix to make sure it doesnot dry up. if needed add water.shoul have the concistency of stew.
  3. cook on low heat for another 30 min.. once you taste & smell the aroma,,then add the chunk of monk fish stewed ingredients & slow cook for 20 min .. let sit for 15 min .
  4. serve with Basmati rice,,
