Ingredients [?] Change Serving Size Add all ingredients to Shopping List

  •   Makes 2 pies
  •   2 cups of Sugar
  •   5 cups milk ( Half Whole Milk and Half Canned Evaporated)
  •   4 Tbsp Cocoa
  •   1/2 cup Cornstarch
  •   3 Large Eggs or 4 Medium
  •   2 tsp Vanilla
  •   2 Bars Hershey's Candy ( 1 bar set aside for grating over topping)
  •   Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Cook in Skillet over medium heat ( like gravy ) until all is melted, turn down to simmer and let thicken. When desired consistency is reached remove from heat and pour into prepared crusts or graham crusts. Let cool, top with cool whip and chocolate bar shavings

I always had Sheppards Pie as a child. It was one of my favorite dishes Mom used to make. When I had my own children, I thought it would be easy and timeless to do. I was wrong. It takes some time. So I created a dish, that has all the elements of Sheppards Pie, without the bake time. I mean really, it all goes down the same way, right?! So enjoy this as my family does!

I have made this pie for Thanksgivings and Christmases for over 40 years! It is extremely light and of such a high volume, it looks like clouds. We do not put whipped cream on top, as this is truly gilding the lily. But then again, it certainly makes it lush. This pie is spicy and sweet.
