Ingredients [?] Change Serving Size Add all ingredients to Shopping List

  •   1 1/2 pounds ground sirloin
  •   1 large egg, beaten
  •   1 cup (3 handfuls), Italian bread crumbs
  •   1 medium onion, chopped fine
  •   4 cloves garlic, crushed and minced
  •   1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  •   2 teaspoons (serveral drops) Worccestershire sauce, (my own addition)
  •   1/4 cup (a couple of handfuls) grated Parmigiano or Romano
  •   Coasrse salt and black pepper
  •   For 5 mintue Marinara Sauce;
  •   2 tablespoon extra-virgin oilive oil, (2 turns around the pan)
  •   4 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped
  •   1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  •   A Handfuls flat-leaf parsley leaves, chopped, about 2 tablesppons
  •   1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  •   1 (28 ounces) can crushed tomatoes
  •   1 (14 ounces) chunky style crushed tomatoes
  •   Salt anf freshly ground black pepper
  •   few slices of parmesan cheese if desired

Instructions

  1. For Meatball;
  2. Set the oven to bake 375 degree. Mix all the ingredints together and make medium size ball and place them on a baking sheet 2" apart. Cook the meat balls for 45 mintues or until they are browned.
  3. For the sauce;
  4. In a frying pan saute the garlics with olive oil add the crushed tomatoes and the rest of the seasoning and ingredients let it sit for 10-15 min on the low flame.
  5. Take the Italian Sub if you desire put the cheese and lay the meatballs cover with the disre amount of sauce.

I got this from a crock pot cookbook several years ago and have made it many times. We all love it. Get a crusty sub roll, spread it with butter, garlic salt and pop in under the broiler for a few minutes and then make your sandwich. It is yummy and easy.
