Lime Jello Salad, Grandma Stoddard's

This is a family Thanksgiving tradition. It was grandma Stoddard's contribution to the meal every year.

  •   1 16oz pkg cream cheese (softened)
  •   1/2 tsp salt
  •   2 3oz pkg lime jello
  •   2 cups boiling water
  •   2 1 lbs can pears (cut & drained)
  •   1 1/2 cups pear juice
  •   1/2 tsp ginger
  •   2 tbl lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Dissolve jello in hot water. Add pear juice, salt & lemon juice. Refrigerate until partially set. Beat in softened cream cheese slowly with wire whip. Add ginger & mix. Fold in pear pieces last. Pour into 9 x 12 pan and refrigerate.
