Here it is a soup that could help & cure any kind of flu in any season . specially in winter.

Ingredients [?] Change Serving Size Add all ingredients to Shopping List

  •   1 whole chicken portion skinless
  •   1 large onion diced
  •   4 large clove of garlic diced
  •   1/4 cup barley
  •   1 8 oz frozen or can chopped spinach
  •   1 8 0z frozen or can turnip green
  •   1/2 cup diced celery
  •   Turmeric to taste
  •   paprika to taste
  •   lemon pepper to taste
  •   ground red pepper to taste
  •   sea salt to taste
  •   1 TBS extra virgin olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over med heat with 0ne table spoon extra virgin olive oil, slightly brown the chicken onion,garlic, celery & barley.
  2. then add turmeric,salt,paprika ,red ground pepper & lemon pepper.
  3. add hot water to cover all the chicken .
  4. cover the pot & cook over med heat for at least 30 min.
  5. add the spinach,turnip greens .add more water if needed.
  6. slow cook the soup for another 30 to 40 min.
  7. turn of the stove let sit for 15 min before serving.
  8. this Healthy soup can be saved in freezer for time needed .

This is a very good, easy, everyday recipe. On a busy day, I usually dump the ingredients (except the cheese, cilantro and sour cream--save those for serving) into the crockpot and serve it wrapped in tortillas when ready (add the cheese, cilantro and sour cream before wrapping the tortilla.) Ole!!
