Orange - Cranberry Sauce

  • add   1-1/2 lbs. fresh cranberries
  • add   3 Cups sugar
  • add   3/4 Cup orange juice
  • add   1/8 tsp. salt
  • add   1/4 Cup Grand Mariner or Tawny Port

Instructions

  1. Rinse berries well. Place them along with rest of ingredients in a large sauce pot and bring to a boil. Turn down heat, cover and simmer until berries pop and are soft, about 30 minutes.
  2. Cool and serve at room temperature.

I purchase fresh cranberries in season and toss in the freezer for later use.

I purchase bags of cranberries in season and toss them in the freezer for later use. In this case, thaw the berries before using.
