My DD can eat this almost as soon as it gets out of the machine. It is really good with a bit of "real" butter

  • add   9 tablespoons sugar
  • add   1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • add   1 teaspoon salt
  • add   1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • add   3 ounces orange juice
  • add   3 ounces warm water
  • add   6 tablespoons canned pumpkin
  • add   1/2 teaspoon dried lemon peel
  • add   2 1/2 cups bread flour
  • add   2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • add   2 eggs
  • add   3/4 cup whole-wheat flour
  • add   1 1/2 tablespoons butter


  1. Place ingredients in the bread machine in order given directed by for your machine (generally liquid, then dry indredients, topped by yeast).
  2. Set machine 1 1/2 lb loaf to go and walk away until it beeps.

I made this recipe and it overflowed hugely when I used the regular 1 1/2lb setting on my bread machine. I will try it again and see if using the Rapid Rise option will work better.
