I make these rolls every year for the Holidays. It's a favorite for everyone.

Ingredients [?] Add all ingredients to Shopping List

  •   1 cup warm water (105-115)
  •   1 pkg. dry yeast
  •   1/4 cup sugar
  •   1/4 cup soft margarine or shortening
  •   1 egg
  •   1 tsp salt
  •   3 1/4 cup flour.

Instructions

  1. Measure water into large warm bowl. Sprinkle in yeast, stir intil disolved. Add sugar, shortening, egg, salt and half of the flour. Beat until smooth. Mix in remaining flour until dough is easy to handle. Place in greased bowl, turning over to grease the top. Cover loosely. Refrig. for 1 hr. When dough raises punch down. Use what dough you need and refrig. remaining dough. Dough can be kept in frig. for up to four days
  2. To bake preheat oven to 375, roll dough into balls and place in a baking pan. bake for 20 to 25 min. Ovens do very so adjust your baking time either way. Half way through baking I brush the tops with melted butter to help with browning.
