This is a great recipe I received from my mother-in-law (ex).A great do ahead dish when company is coming.

1 lb lean groud beef

6 oz spaghetti

2 T butter
-
2 eggs, beaten

1/2 C shredded mozzarella
-
1 t sugar
-
1 large garlic clove - minced
-
6 oz tomato paste
-
1 can diced tomatoes
-
1/3 C Parmesan cheese
-
1 C Ricotta
-
1/4 C chopped green peppers
-
1 t dried oregano
-
1/2 C onion, chopped fine
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Cook and drain spaghetti according to package instructions. Stir butter into hot drained spaghetti until melted. Add Parmesan cheese and eggs and mix well. Pour into a buttered deep dish pie pan. Smooth to form crust on bottom and sides of pie pan. Spread Ricotta cheese over spaghetti and set aside.
- Brown ground beef, onion, garlic, green peppers; stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, and oregano.
- heat until bubbly. Pour into crust.
- Bake uncovered for 20 minutes. Sprinkle Mozzarella over the top and return to oven for and bake until cheese melts.
- Remove from oven and let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
