from may basic cakes recipe usually there is one that could shine through with a little bit of touch .i think i can say it is really awesome!

Ingredients [?] Change Serving Size Add all ingredients to Shopping List

  •   3 cups flour
  •   2 tea spoons backing powder
  •   1/2 tea spoon backing soda
  •   pinch of salt
  •   1 1/2 cups sugar or( brown sugar)
  •   1 1/2 cup unsalted butter or (Extra virgin Olive Oil)
  •   1 tea spoon pure vanilla extract
  •   3 eggs & 1 extra yolk
  •   1 table spoon grated lemon zest or (orange zest)
  •   1 cup heavy cream or (non fat yogurt)
  •   3/4 cup dark rum
  •   confectioner's ( powder sugar) for dusting cake
  •   additional Rum for topping the cake

Instructions

  1. preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. mix all dry ingredients together(flour, backing powder, baking soda,& salt.
  3. mix all the wet ingredients . beat eggs ,butter or( Extra virgin olive oil),vanilla,cream or (non fat yogurt),lemon or orange zest,& rum. mix well and fluffy.
  4. start adding the dry ingredients slowly .
  5. once all the all ingredient blended well using the 10 cup tub pan .well greased. pour the batter in pan & bake almost for i hr.
  6. cool the pan & slowly remove from the pan .pour the extra rum
  7. if you like .dust with sugar powder & enjoy with a cup of your favorite tea or coffee.
