
This recipe has been in the family for years. It has just the perfect blend of flavors. We love having a nice bowl of this stew on a cool winter or spring night!
- 2 lbs. of Stew meat, cut in 1 1/2" cubes
- 2 TBS. shortening ( or Olive oil)
- 2 cups water
- 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 or 2 bay leaves
- 1 TBS salt
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- dash of all spice if you want
- 6 carrots pared and quarted
- 4 to 6 potatoes pared and quarted
- 3 TBS of all purpose flour
