- 2-1/2 to 3 lbs. of chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 c. buttermilk (or 1 cup of milk with 1 T. vinegar)
- 1 c. flour
- 2 tsp. salt
- 1 tsp. pepper
- oil for frying
- To make the Gravy:
- 3 T. flour
- 1 c. milk
- 1 c. water
- 1 to 2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 to 1 tsp. pepper
